Game Modes offer different options for playing Atlas MMO Game.

Available Game Modes

PvP

PvP stands for Player-vs-Player and is a mode where players can cause direct damage to one another, even killing each other. In Atlas in PvP mode it is possible to not only kill your enemies, but also to plunder their tames, buildings, Ships and possessions and take them for their own. Claim flags are used to claim land which you can then set taxes for any resources gathered there. The taxes go into your company bank and can be withdrawn.

PvE

Player-vs-Environment (PvE) is a mode where players cannot cause direct damage to another player, nor to other Company's structures, Ships or Creatures. The main threat to survival in PvE is the environment itself. Claim flags are used to claim land which you can then set taxes for any resources gathered there. The taxes go into your company bank and can be withdrawn. In PvE fast amounts of land are claimed by large companies and can not be taken from them due to the nature of PvE settings. Agreements must be reached to be given land to settle or you must wait for a company to remain logged out long enough for their claims to be taken. In PvE most companies will work together in trading or alliances for treasure hunting. PvE encourages larger settlement builds as buildings can not be destroyed unless using griefing techniques to use NPC characters to destroy buildings and ships.
