Engrams in MMO Atlas are the means by which players unlock the ability to craft many items, armor, clothing and structures.
Engrams are unlocked once the player reaches a certain level. With every level a player gains, they accrue Engram Points, which they can then choose to spend on Engrams as they are unlocked. It is unlikely that any one player would be able to unlock every single Engram, so it may be beneficial to cooperate with Crewmates or friends to get access to everything.
Blueprints provide upgraded versions of Engrams, which also helps players to unlock more items - if a player owns a particular Blueprint, they may use it without having unlocked the basic version of it in Engram form.
